When CRE8IVE Agency got the call by the Australian Taxation Office’s to produce a promotional video for the new online tax tool, they came to Screencraft.
Playing on a parody of a David Attenborough-style film, great leaps forward in the history of technology are detailed in mockumentary fashion before the attention is brought to bear on the latest of these – the ATO’s new MyTax product.
MyTax is a new streamlined tax return system designed specifically for people with straightforward tax affairs, available on tablets, smart phones and computers. MyTax pre-fills the user’s return with information from their previous tax return and with information provided by employers, banks, government agencies and others.
The ad pays draws inspiration from the nostalgic cinema style of Wes Anderson, whilst also paying homage to the kinetic style of Edgar Wright.
