We had the chance to work with David Jones (DJs) on our third straight fashion launch in August 2017. The show launched the Summer Collection and David Jones wanted to go live to their Facebook audience. We produced a 6-camera live feed of the impressive display on Level 7 of the company’s Sydney store.
The key for DJs was to showcase the garments coming out this season. We made sure our shot selection captured the models head to toe all the way around the tricky runway. We spared no expense in bringing this huge show to the masses, running fibre around the site to ensure crystal clear images.
For this year’s show we also used an old staple of sports broadcasting - an EVS. The EVS operator pulled together footage in the hours before the event. We captured arrivals on the red carpet, models getting ready, food preparation and more of the same to help hype the show. The 60-second edit added a huge amount of production value.
The EVS operator was also able to pull together a 60-second highlights package of the show while it was happening. We played this at the end of the show, adding still more production value.
The production was a huge success, the video is still up on Facebook and has 106-thousand views and counting. We loved working closely with the event production team to ensure the smooth live stream. Happy fans, happy client, happy Screencraft.
