Product Stewardship

Product stewardship is an approach to managing the impacts of different products and materials on the environment and human health and safety. Product stewardship schemes help to manage these impacts over a product’s life-cycle.

Screencraft was tasked by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) to produce two case studies explaining what product stewardship is, what schemes already exist, and how people can get involved.

We told the story of Podcycle, a Planet Ark scheme that aims to nationalise coffee pod recycling, making use of that precious aluminium that currently goes to waste.

Our team also told the story of Tread Lightly, a national scheme to recycle used sports shoes and turn the waste into useable materials, thus extending its ultimate lifespan.
