The Brumbies approached Screencraft to produce TV and video content for their 2017 season. With a new CEO, new player signings and a potential new sponsor, they wanted
to show Australia that 2017 marked a shift for the club. The Brumbies were going back to their roots, and they needed the TVC to reflect this.
Inspired by the poem ‘Brumby’s Run’ by Banjo Paterson, Screencraft took a handful of players down to the snowy mountains where they were able to reflect on their heritage and be awed by the free-roaming brumbies of the region. Intercut with the players’ physical preparations for what’s to come, the TVC also aimed to connect the audience with the notion of ‘unbreakable’ - the focus of the season's marketing campaign (thanks to The Mark Agency).
This 30s TVC will be followed by the online release of a full-length 90s version, to coincide with the season kicking off.
The TVC was shot on the Arri Amira using a set of master prime lenses.
